“I Just Can’t Afford Microsoft Office Right Now?”
Okay, so you recently walked in to an office products store, or checked online and priced out the latest Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Edition ($149.00) or the Microsoft Office Standard 2007 Edition ($239/$399) and realize that you need to make just one more big sale before you can pay for one of these office productivity options.
So now there are a bunch of documents that you have the urgent need to create and for one reason or another you do not currently own a Microsoft Office Suite and have given up on creating these documents for the time being.
No need to fear, Underdog is here! Well the 100% free OpenOffice productivity suite may seem like an underdog to its bigger competitor but for a feature-rich set of tools, it is truly fantastic. Now you can have a wonderful free solution to the quagmire you are in and only moments away from regaining your productivity.
Enter OpenOffice 3!
OpenOffice 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. Oh, and did I say free? That is correct…..no strings attached!
What is great about this software is that even though you cannot open documents created in OpenOffice with the Microsoft Office, you CAN save OpenOffice documents into for instance the Microsoft Word format to then later open up in Microsoft Office Word if at some point you acquire a copy of Microsoft Office.
And you CAN open Microsoft Word documents in OpenOffice. You may just decide to make this your permanent office suite if it will suffice in your current working environment and handle most if not all your needs. So without further adieu, here is the link! Enjoy!
And here’s to happy productivity,
